particularly in Dutch language assessments. She emphasized that both the ministry and the CLIMB Foundation have taken community feedback seriously.
In response, the data collection phase of the comprehensive FBE review is now complete. The CLIMB Foundation is analyzing the results and preparing a full report, scheduled for delivery before the end of 2025.

This review aims to shape concrete solutions and recommendations. Ultimately, the goal is to adapt the FBE curriculum and methodology in a way that better serves students’
educational development across the island. Minister Gumbs reinforced that the ministry is listening, evaluating, and preparing to act on what the data reveals.
Shifting focus to financial matters, Minister Gumbs confirmed that vacation pay for subsidized school teachers is underway.
With funds now disbursed to subsidized school boards, she joined the Minister of Finance in urging those boards to promptly issue the payments to all educators.
This action underscores the government’s commitment to honoring agreements and ensuring timely remuneration for teachers.
Closing on a more uplifting note, the Minister officially launched the Dame Ruby Bute National Short Story Contest.
Targeted at children ages 12 to 14, the contest revolves around the theme Guardians of the Great Salt Pond — a Caribbean Futurism concept blending culture,
technology, and heritage. Sponsored by RBC, Boolchands, Antec, and Klass Electronics, winners will receive bank accounts and tech prizes to promote financial and digital literacy.
This initiative not only cultivates creativity but empowers youth to imagine a future rooted in cultural pride and innovation.
Through these measures, Minister Gumbs affirmed the Ministry’s dual focus: solving real problems and celebrating student potential.
