Committee Kingdom Affairs Interparl. Relations (CKAIR) Parliament met with two rapporteurs from the Committee for Kingdom Relations
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Members of the Committee of Kingdom Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations (CKAIR) of Parliament met with two rapporteurs from the Committee for Kingdom Relations of the Second Chamber of the States General of the Netherlands.
They discussed the EU dimension of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Members, Mr. Raoul White (GroenLinks-PvdA) and Mr. Mpanzu Bamenga (D66), are currently drafting a report on this topic. During the meeting, the rapporteurs and the CKAIR Members addressed several key issues, including the elections for the European Parliament in the islands, voter turnout, voting rights, the democratic deficit within the Kingdom, and the status of the islands within the EU perspective.
