According to the law, the vacation allowance rate increased from 6% to 7% as of June 1, 2023, and then to 8% starting June 1, 2024. These changes reflect deliberate legislative adjustments made by Parliament, and the Minister insists that all relevant institutions must apply these percentages accordingly. Furthermore, Gumbs highlighted that indexed salary levels as of January 1 of each year must factor into the calculation. By doing so, employees receive a fair and legally accurate allowance based on their current earnings.
